Beth Oxler was was born in Sioux City, Iowa in 1972 and grew up in Des Moines. She moved to Iowa City in 1990 and received a B.A. in art at the University of Iowa in 1994. During her junior year she studied oil painting at the Lacoste School of the Arts in Provence. Oxler has worked as a graphic designer for the last 10 years at the Press-Citizen, icon, Little Village, Buckledown, and currently at ACT. Oxler paints watercolor in spare time and is inspired by Iowa and its seasons, birds, flowers, old clip art and printer’s ornaments, botanicals, and other people’s art. She is a member of the Iowa Watercolor Society and Arts Iowa City and exhibits in coffee shops and other venues throughout the area. The pieces are painted with Winsor & Newton artist quality watercolor on 140 lb cotton rag paper.        CONTACT oxler90@gmail.com |
